ACR880 SDK
ACR880 SDK
The portable ACR880 from ACS is a secure and feature-rich handheld programmable smartcard terminal that can be used for a wide range of applications and transactions involving smartcard technology. The ACR880 has twin landing contact smartcard reader slots plus a contactless card reader and two internal SAM slots.
The terminal can operate in two modes - linked to a PC when docked in its charging cradle, or stand-alone. Its powerful 32-bit ARM9 processor runs Embedded Linux, for which stand-alone application firmware can be developed and downloaded as required.
The ACR880 also has a quad-band GPRS mobile data modem on board, as well as a high-resolution back-lit LCD, status LEDs, speaker and durable 20-button keypad.
The supplied cradle will charge the internal battery when docked, and also provides convenient connections for the USB host and client interfaces plus RS232 serial and TCP/IP Ethernet ports.
Developers of new applications will need to purchase the ACR880 SDK first.
Note: To use the GPRS feature, a separate SIM card and suitable service contract will be required.
The ACR880 SDK is a complete package providing all the components required for application development:- ACR880 GPRS Portable Smart Card Terminal
